The table is standard FreeCell: eight cascades, four free cells, and four foundations, with all 52 cards face up from the start. Numbered deals and the Daily Deal use the same rulings. They differ only in which deal is dealt, and which local save holds an unfinished position.
Numbered Deals and the Daily Deal
Numbered Deals
Open any Microsoft deal from 1 to 1,000,000, or deal another number. The same number always starts the same way.
Daily Deal
Maps the current UTC date to one deal. Everyone who opens it on that UTC day sees the same cards; known unsolvable numbers are skipped.
This is a single-player browser table. There is no local two-player mode, no live rooms, and no public lobby. The same deal number can be opened on another device, but progress does not sync.
A hint is a suggestion for the current position, not a player rating. The shortest-move figure on a deal is reference data for that opening, not a leaderboard. There are no accounts, ranks, or public scores.
How This Table Rules FreeCell
Cascades build down in alternating colors. An empty column can take any card or a legal run; it does not have to start with a king. A run can be dragged up to 2 to the power of free cells, times empty columns plus one; if the landing column is empty, that column is left out of the multiplier. Auto-collect takes every card that can legally go home now. It is not a safe-home filter that guarantees a win.
Hint runs Freecell Solver in the browser first, then a local heuristic if needed. The first press only marks origin and landing; the second plays. The line is not guaranteed shortest. Eight deals in the Microsoft million are known to be unwinnable; Hint says so when the current position cannot be finished. Deal layout, the run limit, and how this table differs from related games are on the rules page.
Progress, Records, and Browser Storage
Unfinished positions on the main table and the Daily Deal are stored separately in the current browser. Wins, best time, fewest moves, and cleared deal numbers share one local record. They do not sync across devices or browsers. Clearing site data removes both progress and records. Clear local record on the table wipes scores only; it does not redeal the current game.
Undo restores an Auto-collect batch as a unit. The sound switch stays in this browser and defaults to off. Solving for hints runs on the device; the layout is not uploaded to Ply Yard to compute a hint.
No sign-up does not mean no data processing. The privacy policy explains local storage, analytics, technical requests, and mail sent to us.
Development, Maintenance, and Feedback
Developed and maintained by Ply Yard.
For a move, hint, or display problem, include the deal number, whether you were on the main table or the Daily Deal, your browser, and the steps to reproduce it. A screenshot or the current move count helps confirm the position.
Stronger hints load Freecell Solver (fc-solve) in the browser as WebAssembly, used under the MIT License. Solving stays on the device; layouts are not sent to Ply Yard to compute a hint.
Card faces come from hayeah/playing-cards-assets by Howard Yeh, used under the MIT License. The original Vector Playing Cards artwork is in the public domain.
Before You Play
- Choose a numbered deal or the Daily Deal.
- Check how empty columns, the run limit, and auto-collect work here.
- Check that progress stays in the current browser.
Use the rules page for rulings and the opening page for how to read the first few moves. Once you sit down, the current table is the authority.
